Getting into the city from Pearson Airport
Toronto has a good subway system called the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) and good public connectivity to the Pearson Airport through the Up Express. It is possible to pay for either using tickets or tokens, but by far the most convenient method is through the Presto Card. Presto Cards can be purchased at many convenience stores throughout the city and at the Up Express counter at the airport. There are good taxi and limo services as well. Expect to spend $50-60 (CDN) for same to get into the city centre.
Getting to the Conference
The Downsview campus of York University is located at the northern edge of the city of Toronto and is served by two TTC subway stations on campus.
Toronto has many regulated taxi services including Co-Op, Beck and Diamond.
Major car rental companies also has their branches at the airport. Note that parking in Toronto can be expensive — even at the university — and that most of the tourist destinations within the city can be reached easily using public transit.
