Edmonton International Airport
Air travel offers the most convenient way to get to Edmonton. The Edmonton International Airport has non-stop flights to and from Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Seattle, San Francisco, and beyond. Airport taxi, bus, and shuttle services are available to transport you to Downtown Edmonton or to the University of Alberta.
Getting to the Conference
The campus of the University of Alberta is approximately 10 minutes driving from Downtown Edmonton. The City of Edmonton has a full-range of transportation services including bus, taxi, and a Light Rail Transit (LRT) system. The Edmonton Transit System website provides official schedule information for all bus and LRT routes throughout the City.
Taxi Service
Edmonton has many 24-hour taxi services for getting around town: Yellow Cab (ph. 780-462-3456), Barrel Taxi (ph. 780-489-7777), and Prestige Cabs (ph. 780-462-4444). These companies also provide airport transportation.
Car Rentals
Major car rental companies also has their branches at the airport. AVIS, Budget, Enterprise and National car rental services are located conveniently in Downtown Edmonton or at the Edmonton International Airport. Please consult their websites for detailed information.
Getting Around the University of Alberta
Places that are important to our conference are listed below:
- Lister Conference Centre This is where the conference management and registration are located. The three lecture theatres in this building hosts AI’s tutorial and planary sessions, as well as all GI’s and CRV’s sessions in the next three days, and the Welcoming Reception on May 16th evening.
- The University Faculty Club This is where the Conference Banquet on May 17th evening will be hosted.
University Food Services
The University Food Services around the campus provide casual food and drinks. The catering hall in the Student Residences will open from early morning till late night, while the other places may serve lunch and/or dinner. Wi-fi Internet Access in University of Alberta
