Accommodation
There are two places reserved for your stay for the 2017 AI/GI/CRV Conferences. Either stay on the campus of University of Alberta within walking distance from the conference venue, or book a room in the city. There are a lot of hotels around Edmonton down town ranging from the prestigious Fairmont Hotel Macdonald to the budget option of the Days Inn Hotel. Please note that the conference management do not have formal arrangements with any of the hotels described in this section. For some hotels, we were able to obtain open booking at excellent rate without financial risk to the conference. The number of open booking rooms is limited so make you reservations early. There are many convenient buses routes, LRT, and taxis run between the university and your hotel.
Schäffer Hall RESERVED
Schäffer Hall is the newest University of Alberta residence. Located in the Lister Centre Conference Centre (where the Conferences will be held), it offers bright and comfortable single rooms with private washrooms, high-speed internet (requires ethernet cable) and a work desk for your convenience. Each room features windows that open and black-out blinds. Schäffer Hall also offers common areas featuring lounges with comfortable seating, cable television and telephone service with free local calls on each floor, as well as kitchens, coin-operated laundry service, and more. Certainly not your traditional university residence, and definitely a great value! Campus Tower Suite Hotel
The Campus Tower Suite Hotel is located within walking distance from the Lister Conference Centre, as well as dining and shopping businesses in the vicinity of the U of A campus. Since we do not have a room block in the Campus Tower Suite Hotel, we encourage you to book early for this option.

AI/GI/CRV has also secured a special group rate for bookings with the Delta Edmonton South Hotel. This hotel is located approximately 2km from the University of Alberta. Amenities include free wireless Internet and complimentary on-site parking.

Fairmont Hotel Macdonald RESERVED
Fairmont Hotel Macdonald a four-diamond luxury hotel is situated in the heart of downtown Edmonton. This iconic property has been the setting of the city’s finest events and recognizable fixture of Edmonton’s skyline since July 5th, 1915. Standing high on the bank overlooking the largest urban parkway in North America. For the conference duration, we were able to negotiate an open block arrangement at a rate of $269/night plus taxes. This is excellent deal as the best available on-line rate is $339 for a standard Fairmont Hotel Macdonald room at the moment. Breaking news, from May 1 to May 31 the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald has just announced that they will reduce their basic room price from $269/night to $199/night.
